A Special Thanks to Our Committed Volunteers and Friends
Sunday, June 15
Since I undertook this challenge in February, there have been many individuals who have lent their time and considerable efforts to our campaign. In just three and half months, volunteers reached out to 35,000 voters in the 33rd Congressional District through forty phone banks and eight precinct walks.
There were over 1000 volunteers participating in precinct walks, phone banks and coordinating house parties, working on a true grassroots campaign—listening to the real concerns and needs of our community members.
Different groups throughout the community joined in working toward our goal, while communicating their issues. A group of young Korean activist organized “Korean’s for Karen” and I believe they talked to every Korean voter in the district on more than one occasion. Jewish voters in the District organized several house meetings and discussions about the importance of Isreal. Armenian, Thai and Korean residents also organized meetings, tours and briefings to make sure I understood the issues of concern here and in their respective homelands.
